Our client is a customer focused, innovative, value-driven engineering company, which manufactures, processes and distributes products and services to customers worldwide. As a result of their commercial success, they are now looking to add a Lead Sourcing Specialist to their procurement team. The objective of this new opportunity is to lead the sourcing team within the category, and support the Business Purchasing Manager to ensure a cost effective and highly professional supplies service to specified business units and commodities, whilst managing commercial relationships effectively.

The role will require a combination of high level procurement skills, coupled with strong supplier management and cross functional influencing techniques.

The procurement activity will be focussed across a range of categories and the business offers significant opportunity to expand and develop skills into new commodity areas for the right candidate. Further responsibilities include

• Supporting leadership for analysing key trends / issues in global supply and  Total Cost of Ownership

• Ensure that the sourcing team and user entities are supported with timely information and supplier feedback on any key constraints and / or improvement opportunities with assigned suppliers

• Participate in and, as needed, provide leadership to the supplier selection process on new or transitioning components

• Lead & support supplier negotiation sessions including articulating clear negotiation strategies (in conjunction with EMEA & sourcing team leadership)

It is essential that the applicant will have extensive and demonstrable experience achieving and exceeding targets ideally within a progressive purchasing function in a global organisation.

The successful candidate will have proven competencies within the following areas:

·          Product / process knowledge

·          Analytical ability

·          Sourcing policies / systems

·         Champion continuous improvement in supply base 

·         Utilisation of 6 Sigma tools
