Role Profile

This senior position will take full responsibility for the day to day management of Messier Dowty’s Procurement, Supply, Quality and Logistics processes for production, design and manufacture of aircraft systems

  • This is a senior role in the organisation, leading an established management team
  • Management of the Procurement, Supply, Quality and Logistics functions to ensure cost effective procurement of all products and outsourced operations
  • Work in conjunction with assembly and logistics to apply lean tools and techniques to optimise delivery solutions and minimise handling
  • Proactive management of suppliers through the development and deployment of risk management process
  • Utilise supplies scorecard data as basis to improve supplier quality and delivery
  • Take responsibility for the project management of all outsourcing, supplier to supplier work transfer and new product introduction within the external supply chain
  • Development and implementation of a coordinated Global Procurement domain
Skills & Experience

Essential

  • An experienced Procurement/Supply Chain/Logistics Professional with a proven record of overachievement and excelling targets and expectations of delivery within the Aerospace and/or Automotive industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, manage, and motivate others to make changes within a manufacturing environment with employees at all levels
  • In-depth knowledge of total quality management and “lean production techniques”
  • Hands on management style with a proven ability to act as a team player and leader.
  • International contract awareness and Supplier relationship building experience
  • Excellent commercial acumen coupled with a broad understanding of business
  • Strong analytical, organizational, planning and communication skills
  • You will have a minimum of a degree level in a relevant discipline (ideally first class) and be MCIPS qualified

Desirable

  • Passion for frequent Global business travel
  • Bilingual: An additional European language would be a distinct advantage
  • Experienced in development and administration of departmental budgets
  • Ideally fully qualified or currently studying a Masters Qualification

Renumeration

Up to £60,000 basic with an executive benefits package.
