Role Profile

A professional Procurement Contractor is required for a railway business based in Buckinghamshire to cover maternity leave for around a 9 month period.

 

This will be a tactical role solely focussed on the soft services categories, as such the individual will be highly experienced in this area of procurement, as well as able and willing to get their hands dirty with the everyday activities of the purchasing function, such as: sourcing, negotiating, supplier management, contract adherence, stakeholder management, trouble shooting, problem solving, purchase order management and invoice reconciliation.

Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a wide ranging procurement role.
  • Highly experienced in the tendering process
  • Strong numerical, analytical and literacy skills.
  • Should have a flexible, assertive and proactive approach to work (willing to roll sleeves up)
  • Experience working within a small team
  • It literate - MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Administrative skills and be able to organise and prioritise work.
  • Organise and chair contract review meetings.
  • Advise internal customers on wide ranging procurement issues.
  • Experience of managing a wide variety of contracts including hard and soft services.

Previous categories must include:

o    Marketing (outdoor and branding)

o    Waste management

o    Office and clerical supplies

o    IT & telecoms

o    Facilities Management (cleaning, washrooms, recycling etc)

o    staffing

Desirable

  • Knowledge of public sector procurement
  • Experience of rail industry
