An experienced Senior Buyer is required in a brand new role within the Purchasing team for a chemical manufacturing organisation based in East Manchester.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for implementing strategy, vendor selection, negotiation and cost reductions within a complex, high end chemical manufacturing environment.

The role will incorporate the evaluation of suppliers based on cost, quality, service, availability and reliability

• Proven track-record as a Senior Buyer within a Manufacturing Environment
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Business Practices
• CIPS Qualified desirable
• Knowledge of contract law, cost analysis, supply chain issues, value for money issues and sustainability
• A commercial attitude to maximise the financial management of building purchases through negotiation
• Efficient adaptable and flexible to varying workloads
• Be able to work with senior level staff and clients, a good communicator, capable of listening and influencing
• Dedicated with a great team attitude

The client develops and manufactures high performance protection membranes and coatings for the construction industry.
