Messier-Dowty, part of Safran, is the worlds largest manufacturer of aircraft landing gear with plants and suppliers on three continents and is enjoying substantial growth having won new contracts in this important growth sector of the UK economy.
Messier-Dowty are looking for a Materials Management professional to lead a team large team as the business transitions from a single lean manufacturing plant focus into a globally organised commodity based multi-site organisation.
You will be responsible for
Moulding the team to compliment the established global commodity based purchasing organisation
Supply of all materials into the Gloucester production plant from suppliers and sister plants in France, Canada, China and Mexico.
Supplier Performance Leaders who have global commodity responsibility for selected suppliers delivering to all assembly plants
Supplier Quality including supplier development, SQA and goods-inwards inspection. Drive the changes needed to minimise in house inspection.
Developing the recent implementation of SAP to drive improved supplier performance at a plant and global level.
Through cross functional teams ensure total cost of acquisition is considered and quantified when new model programs and resourcing actions are introduced
You will have developed your management experience in a global business and be familiar with managing in a matrix organisation with cross functional teams
Reporting direct to the site Managing Director. You will also have Materials Management experience of complex products and supply chain processes including low and high volume parts and assemblies.
