Role Profile

A brand new and exciting role has been created within this healthcare organisation in order to identify best practice, implement robust contracts and reduce spend for the indirect categories such as: Uniforms, medical devices, consumables, utilities and professional services, as well as managing the current pharmaceutical spend with direct suppliers.

 

This role will have a great deal of focus around reducing spend margins. As an incentive to reduce costs, there is a very attractive commission/bonus structure in place to accompany the basic salary and overall benefits package.

 

Responsibilities will include

  • Negotiate margin improvement on products – particularly uniforms, medical devices, consumables, utilities and professional services as well as generic pharmaceutical and ancillary products
  • Report savings and margin gain
  • Working with the demand planning team to ensure suppliers are meeting/exceeding internal purchasing policies
  • Work with suppliers to improve credit terms across the business
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers ensuring win-win outcomes
  • Design and implement new procurement processes for the whole business – including but not limited to facilities, IT, transport, clinical and nursing activities.
  • Develop, implement, maintain and improve reporting processes to demonstrate margin improvement for all products

Skills & Experience

  • Considerable procurement experience with a “hands on” approach - significant knowledge of procurement processes and strategy
  • Indirect purchasing experience – with very clear and defined savings achieved (you will be required to document and report these during interview)
  • Experience of implementing new procurement processes across the whole business
  • Ability to achieve and exceed targets in a fast paced environment whilst build relationships and trust with peers
  • Significant cost reduction (please provide facts and figures upon application)
  • Ability to develop and maintain supplier relations

Remuneration

£30,000 + Bonus + 25 days holiday + Pension
