Pembrokeshire covers the south west of Wales, and contains its westernmost settlement, St David’s. It borders Ceredigion in the north east and Carmarthenshire to the east. Its north, south and west edges are all sea-facing. Large areas of the county’s coastal region are part of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The administrative headquarters is at Haverfordwest, an inland town of around 15,000 population, and Pembrokeshire’s largest.
Pembrokeshire is a county of contrast. There is plenty of natural beauty and the tourist resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot are in the county. However it is also home to Milford Haven and Pembroke Dock shipping ports and oil terminals.
