Job purpose:
The Warehouse & Logistics manager is reponsible for the entire Sasse Supplies Department. They will be a strong communicator and an effective leader. The main purpose of the role is to ensure the effective management and smooth daily operations of the Supplies department. The desired candidate will have a proven track record in leading change, digitalisation, and effective warehouse co-ordination at management level.
It is essential that the candidate is ambitious as the company wishes to undergo significant expansion in this area of the organisation.
Main duties:
- Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services for the Sasse Supplies division
- Direct, optimise and coordinate the full order cycle ensuring effective customer communication and minimising back ordering
- Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers to deliver cost effective solutions to our customers
- Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency. Implement and agree on KPI's for the department in agreement with the head of department and reporting weekly to the Head of Department
- Strong communication with other organisational departments
- Arrange the warehouse to maximise space and optimise effective picking of goods
- Resolve any arising problems or complaints
- Supervise, coach and train the warehouse workforce
- Monitor the departments P&L ensuring profitable operations within the department
- Ensure effective communication with internal and external customers adhearing to the companies communication policy
- Implemement metrics and analyze data to assess performance of the department and implement improvements
- Implement digital solutions for the department for picking, ordering and POD systems with support from the companies IT Manager
- Implement customer satisfactory survey and ensure an excellent satisfaction rating which is higher than 90%
Additional duties:
- Ensure GDPR compliance throughout the department
- Ensure Health and Safety compliance and policies are followed
- Manage supplies department sickness and cover
- Manage vehicle fleet and ensure it remains in a safe and road worthy condition
- Manage the departments HR with guidance from the companies HR Manager
- Monthly, Bi Annual and Annual Stock take coordination
- Complete any additional duties at the reasonable request of the Head of Department or Managing Director which may be required
The Candidate.
- The desired candidate will have fantastic communication skills, the ability to motivate a team, challenge poor performance, and improve workplace desirability
- Proven Leadership & Management experience is essential
- Financial and budgetary skills - Required
- Exemplary logistical problem solving skills using their own initiative to plan codinate the warehouse department effectively & efficiently
- A detailed and comprehensive knowledge in warehouse and Logistics Management with a minimum of 5 years relative experience including in depths experience with ERP systems and inventory control
- IOSH qualification - required
- ILM 3 or demonstration of knowledge to the required level
- Excellent digital skills including the use of Microsoft office. You will be proficient in sending well written e-mails and have a good knowledge in Microsoft excel which will be essential in your role
