Role Profile

My client, a growing fast-fashion retailer is looking to appoint an Assistant Merchandiser to join their growing head office team in West Lancashire. Reporting into the Head of Buying & Merchandising, you will play a key part in enabling the effective management of stock and maximisation of profit. Joining an ambitious and fast-paced online retailer, you will work collaboratively with the Head of Buying & Merchandising to develop on current ideas and processes, bringing new and innovative ideas and ways of working to help drive the business forward. This position will ideally suit a strong Merchandise Assistant or Assistant Merchandiser working for an online retailer, looking to make a big impact within a smaller, growing business. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an already successful online retailer and be part of their exciting journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage intake and critical path
  • Daily and weekly analysis of product performance - identify exceptions and propose actions to rectify
  • Manage core and key seasonal products, repeat buys and availability
  • Manage communication cross functionally
  • Markdown management and promotional product proposal
  • Responsibility for own department, under the line manager's guidance
  • Responsible for identifying and resolving data inaccuracies
  • Support the Buying team with adhoc tasks and reports
  • Identify merchandising best practices and ways of working
  • Suggest improvements to processes and procedures
  • Assist in the development of the Merchandising Assistant

Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes

  • Retail merchandising experience is essential (e-commerce)
  • Experience of working with UK and/or European suppliers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced business
  • Ambitious, self-starter who can work on own initiative as well as collaboratively with the wider team
  • Thinking outside the box; develop on current processes
  • Passionate, lively and keen to be part of a business's growth journey
  • Eager to muck-in and assist in driving a growing business forward
  • Down-to-earth with the ability to adapt quickly to change
