Role Profile
Our client, an historic Yorkshire-based clothing retailer, is looking to appoint an Assistant Merchandiser to their team in West Yorkshire. They will be reporting into two Merchandisers, actively supporting them with forecasting and strategies. You will need to liaise autonomously with suppliers and manage sub categories, whilst working closely with the Buying team to ensure the correct ranges are selected. The individual for this role must have at least 12 months experience as an Assistant Merchandiser and it should be within the retail industry. Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to highlight to Merchandisers opportunities and risks in terms of stock / sales levels.
  • To create items in order to raise purchase orders in the Futura system, and amend details where and when required.
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers and liaise with warehouse
  • Inventory management
  • To produce and understand colour and size analysis for designated sub categories.
  • To liaise with suppliers and freight forwarders to ensure timely delivery of contracts. To highlight to senior members of the team any issues.
  • Ensure system integrity.
  • Regular category reporting and analysis
  • To work closely with the Buying team to select right ranges
  • General admin duties.
  • Stock allocation to branches.
  • Weekly sales reporting of individual sub categories against the budgets set.
  • Work alongside the merchandiser to accurately forecast sales, stock and intake in line with company requirements and sales trends.
  • Line card Management
  • Site analysis
  • Ability to produce and interpret historical sales analysis

Skills & Experience

  • 12 Months experience within Merchandising
  • Great communicator, relationship and rapport builder
  • Pro-active and confident
  • Retail sector background
  • Strong analytical and strategic mindset
  • Organised, good with time management and time sensitive deadlines
