Role Profile
Our client, a fast-growing retailer is looking for an Assistant Buyer to join their trading team. Reporting in to the Senior Buyer, you will assist in growing sales, maximising profits creating a commercial product range at competitive prices
Key Responsibilities
- Sales forecasting and replenishment ordering
- Sourcing market beating clearance deals
- Developing seasonal ranges
- Work with merchandising and space-planning teams to optimise space
- Supplier management and onboarding of new suppliers
- Commercial negotiation - cost pricing, promotional funding etc
- Work with marketing to promote amazing value deals
- Identify market trends and new product opportunities
- Keeping abreast of competitor proposition
What experience does the ideal candidate need?
- FMCG buying experience is compulsory
- Experience of working within the discount sector is favourable
- Sales forecasting
- Excellent supplier negotiation skills
- Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to create and understand detailed reporting, and make decisions based on analysis
