 Role Profile

Our client is looking to appoint a new Group Purchasing Manager to join their highly successful distribution business.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a greenfield project and put your own stamp on the Procurement function within the business.

You will be working as part of the senior leadership team to position Supply Chain to support wider business growth objectives.

 Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing strategic OEM and supplier relationships across an extensive range of standard and bespoke products
  • Negotiating commercial terms and contractual agreements
  • Managing suppliers to ensure optimum performance levels
  • Implementing appropriate stock holding policies to optimise inventory levels whilst ensuring availability for customers
  • Managing a team of Buyers, including developing staff and managing agreed budgets
  • Working alongside the Directors in contributing to overall business objectives and achieving business growth
  • Managing change across the supply chain to streamline internal and external processes, deliver cost savings and add value

 Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong operational Procurement background and an understanding of wider supply chain principles
  • Experience in a distribution environment, managing a complex and extensive product range
  • Proven track record of delivering change programmes
  • Experience in leading and influencing stakeholders at an executive level
  • Experience managing teams
