Role Profile
Our client, a leading clothing supplier, is looking to appoint a Head of Ecommerce to join their growing team based in Stockport. Reporting into the Trading Director, you will set and deliver an ambitious sales strategy capable of delivering sustainable long-term growth whilst leading and inspiring a team. Building on the recent success of the trading team, this role will collaborate with the in-house product development and marketing teams as well as external suppliers to deliver a website-first sales culture. The role will be integral to delivering a new website platform next year which will support the Category Managers to showcase their new ranges to existing and new customers. A key part of the role will be to leverage all online marketing channels to ensure the business delivers a coherent and consistent message to both new and existing customers. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual with experience in a similar online trading role with a desire to have ownership of their own website and assist in driving an already successful business forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Successfully launch a new website platform in conjunction with the chosen developers
  • Deliver the sales and margin budgets for the website platform, ensuring each sales channel performs as budgeted
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to ensure the business delivers exceptional content and imagery
  • Develop the service offering including delivery and personalisation
  • Ensure development and marketing costs are managed within budget to maximise ROI
  • Take ownership of the daily sales performance of the website
  • Communicate and report on performance drivers versus budgets
  • Constantly develop the platform to improve customer experience and increase conversion rates
  • Implement the trading calendar to drive traffic around seasonal campaigns, promotions and new products launches.
  • Develop a team of e-commerce professionals capable of delivering a best in breed solution
  • Create a dynamic trading culture ensuring the business reacts to trading performance daily
  • Conduct regular reviews with your team setting clear objectives that support our growth objectives

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in a fast-paced retail pure play environment
  • Proven business development expertise in driving growth and innovation of a category or business
  • Expert knowledge of all online marketing channels
  • A customer-focused and strategic outlook

  • PC Literate with high skills in Powerpoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
