Role Profile
Our client, a long established supplier of Accessories & Gifts, is looking to appoint a Import Merchandiser to join their UK team based near Oldham. They are well-respected supplier that produces trend-led and bespoke products to leading UK and international retailers for over 20 years. Due to their continuing growth, the business is keen to employ a bright and enthusiastic Import Merchandiser to join their close-knit and friendly team. The ideal candidate will have strong stock management skills and have a genuine interest in the product area as well as exceptional Word and Excel skills. Graduates with relevant degrees/work experience will also be considered. This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated, confident, logical thinker who can demonstrate initiative and drive, to join a growing business where you will be managing a number of customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle Customer orders and enquiries
  • Raising all purchase orders internally and send to production factories
  • Accurately amending purchase orders
  • Dealing with issues arising with orders both internally and externally
  • Inputting orders onto the Critical Path
  • Managing Critical Path with suppliers and Customers
  • Processing Samples Received
  • Labelling, Logging, Organising and Filing Samples
  • Sampling Chasing and Sending at customers request
  • Supporting in sample preparation for selection meetings
  • Receiving and Sending Courier Parcels / Post
  • Assist in Range Planning
  • Meet and greet customers and prepare and offer refreshments
  • Monitor Shipping and Factory Production and ensure the customer production flow is accurate and updated and stock deliveries are achieved
  • Liaise with production factories to ensure production is in line with the agreed plan
  • Develop a sold working relationship with customers and suppliers to achieve an effective working environment
  • Preparing Quotations / sales offers for customers for email and meetings
  • Arranging Inspection bookings prior to shipment


Skills & Experience

  • Ability to work under pressure and cope with tight deadlines
  • Experience in import / supply chain industry would be a big bonus!
  • Time management skills in order to prioritise workload
  • Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisation skills are essential
  • PC word, excel
  • Confident communicator
  • Team Player with polite and friendly disposition.
  • Fashion Aware (some form of Fashion Degree will be an advantage)
  • Self-Motivated
  • Logical thinker
