A Junior Merchandiser is required to assist in all aspects of our clients growing buying, merchandise and import function within the business to business sector. Within this role you will be responsible for delivering high availability of all listed items within the company's central warehouse. This will be achieved by great team-working both within the merchandising team, and around the entire company, an analytical mind is required to truly understand sales, forecasts, performance and what triggers sales and be able to take a proactive approach.

You will have excellent organisational, time management, numeric and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to learn quickly. What's more you'll be confident with the ability to work with speed, efficiency, flexibility and general professionalism. You'll be computer literate with excellent Excel skills. Good communication skills are essential. This role reports to the Merchandise Manager.

Key aspects of the role:

  • Take full responsibility for the stock availability in the warehouse.
  • Be responsible for the end to end management of the mail order customers.
  • A vital part will be to build positive relationships with the sales & customer service team.
  • Review & monitor sales patterns by item / range on a daily basis
  • Highlight any urgent actions for the team, direct them in what action needs to be taken, follow through and challenge as required.
  • Manage the twice yearly seasonal launch projects end to end from a merchandise perspective; from decision making on discontinued lines, managing discontinued rundown, agree new line forecasts in conjunction with the sales & buying teams, tracking the status of all new lines and providing weekly updates to the wider business of progress, with the team who will manage the day to day ordering of the goods etc.
  • Producing & distributing all shared operational reports on a weekly basis

Merchandise Responsibilities:

  • Range analysis - review current ranges to decide what's working and what's not.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and key accounts.
  • Category analysis, identify where the gaps are by working closely with the Buying team.
  • Working closely with the Sales team forecasting and identifying best sellers.
  • Analysing sales and reacting to trends
