Operations Manager (E-Commerce)
North West
£60,000 + Excellent Benefits

Role Profile
An established market leading retailer are looking for an experienced individual who has proven and tested experience in e-commerce warehouse environments. This is an exciting & rewarding role which will be based at their distribution centre in the North West. The purpose of the role is to ensure a constant, smooth and efficient e-commerce operation whilst achieving agreed budgetary and service levels. Managing an operational team of Shift Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders (total headcount 350+), you will reporting into the senior management team.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To ensure all E-commerce orders are picked, packed and dispatched in a timely and accurate manner, in line with set operational KPI's
  • Plan and monitor manpower resource (daily/weekly). Identifying and shortfalls and react accordingly
  • Manage daily and weekly performance targets (Pick Rates & accuracy)
  • Ensure all operational staff provide outstanding customer service levels at all times
  • Responsible for ensuring all Health & Safety is adhered to within the warehouse
  • Engage/Manage and develop staff. Encourage and motivate staff and recognise for excellent achievements
  • Report accurately KPI's as per agreed SLA's across multiple channels
  • Able to take on any adhoc project work when required
  • Development opportunities - Able to identify 'Quick wins' and longer term as part of continuous improvement/strategy methodologies.
  • Control Employee relations within the Warehouse, ensuring that all personnel issues are dealt with swiftly and within Company and legislation.
  • Enforcing Stock & Inventory control - WMS and System requirements


Skills & Experience
It is essential that you will have a background working within blue-chip organisations, and experience working within a busy E-commerce environment.

  • Task orientated - able to prioritise effectively. Self-starter and results driven.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills.
  • Responsible for all full time recruitment with assistance from HR.
  • Housekeeping
  • Health & Safety - Ensuring that this is practised each and every day. It is desirable that you have the IOSH qualification or similar.
  • IT Literate - Proven & demonstrative knowledge in MS Office (notably Excel).
  • Demonstrative analytical knowledge of using WMS systems to a competent and proficient standard.
