Role Profile

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading Energy business through an exciting period of change for a minimum of 6 months.

Key responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Carry out a full spend review to establish expenditure profile by commodity/service and supplier.
  • Work with a legal team to review all contracts to be novated, ensuring there are no onerous terms and the rates being novated are competitive in the current market.
  • Develop a tendering programme for those contracts that have been identified as not being suitable for novation, and as such will not be novated across.
  • Identify gaps in the given portfolio of Contract Terms and make recommendations for additional requirements to support the future needs of the business.
  • Deliver ongoing benefits to the business through ensuring your procurement contracts are written and managed to deliver best value to the company whilst working closely with key stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver optimised customer services for the organisation.
  • Using the appropriate KPI's to measure and review both the suppliers' performance together with the effectiveness and efficiency of your contracts.
  • Ensure that the philosophy and principles of continuous improvement are adopted within your contracts.
  • Ensure standards for compliance for all activities, including those undertaken by Contractors, with full regard to: site licence requirements, statutory regulations, Company and location directives, procedures and safety rules.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience of liaising with contractors, suppliers and operational managers across multiple locations with >10 years working within a procurement environment.
  • Experience in IT Category Management and developing IT Procurement Contracts.
  • Experience in managing transformation projects and novating contracts.
  • Experience in project and contract management across multiple locations.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships across multiple locations.
  • Computer literate and able to use computerised analytical techniques / packages.
  • Knowledge of organisational structure to ensure referral of issues outside own work area.
  • Demonstrable understanding of strategic sourcing and vendor relationship management.
  • Experience of writing detailed, quantifiable Tenders, Commercial Contracts and associated documentation such as Specifications, RFI's and RFQ's.
