Procurement Manager - Indirects


Up to £43,000 

Role Profile: 

Cast UK are looking to recruit a Procurement Manager for their North West based client. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and commercially minded procurement professional to join a successful business to support the Procurement Director in the delivery of a sustainable, compliant, innovative supply chain that is value for money, secure and reliable. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing across a broad range of categories such as IT - FM -Site Services - Recruitment - Stationary etc. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To assist the Procurement Director in the development and delivery of the department's strategy ensuring key activities and KPIs are delivered effectively and efficiently.
  • Support the Procurement Director in developing and implementing policies and procedures to cover all procurement activity.
  • Provide a consultancy service including training and support to all business functions covering the full procurement process.
  • Lead cross functional teams on large tender processes, including OJEU compliant tenders, and undertake all necessary evaluation to arrive at outcomes aligned to the initial strategy.
  • Responsible for the implementation of cost saving initiatives.
  • Provide data to produce KPIs to be used to drive performance improvements throughout the department.
  • Promote the Procurement function to ensure purchasing presence is visible within the business and there is compliance with both internal policies and following industry best practice.
  • Provide support to other members of the team to ensure business and personal objectives are achieved.
  • Lead on the deployment of the eProcurement system into the wider business ensuring it is utilised fully and we take advantage of new developments.
  • Deputies for the Head of Procurement, both in their absence (assuming all duties) and at meetings as and when required.

Skills and Experience: 

  • CIPS
  • Degree level educated (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of European Procurement law and procedures
  • Good knowledge and experience of technical aspects of procurement such as tendering, contract law and negotiating across a wide range of goods and services
  • Proven track record of negotiating high spend contracts and delivering savings
  • Ability to assess information and decide upon effective and efficient courses of action
  • Ability to influence others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate previous experience of advanced stakeholder management approach and skills
  • Good standard of IT skills including Excel, Power point and Word
