Bunzl Catering Supplies, part of the Bunzl Catering & Hospitality Division, is the leading distributor of disposables, packaging and hygiene solutions to the hospitality and catering sectors in the UK. Delivering to a variety of customers in both the private and public sector from small independent cafe owners, local health trusts and schools to national hotel and restaurant chains.
As the exclusive recruitment partner for WK Thomas, Cast UK have been instructed to recruit an Account Manager for their Team. The role will be home based, and the ideal candidate will be based in the South of the UK or the Midlands. As a member of the WKT- travel team you will oversee a specific portfolio of accounts and act as a liaison between BCS and the company's presence in your respective territory. The Account manager is also responsible for developing new business opportunities within identified sectors including through tender activity, ensuring customer needs are met satisfactorily.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve sales and profit targets on Portfolio Customers
- Make the most of all opportunities with the aim to achieve budget as an individual and part of a team by following opportunities through to orders
- Increase profitability and turnover from existing accounts and from new business
- Maintain pricing agreements/ DAFs and any other required administration
- Manage a portfolio of customers and where applicable provide field support for larger accounts
- Identifying and qualifying customer opportunities for new product sales.
- Deal with specific customer queries and issues promptly and coordinate with other departments to an appropriate conclusion and any follow up actioned
- Develop and broaden relationship with existing customers while identifying and qualifying opportunities for new product sales. Maximising sales penetration within each customer by selling the complete range of services.
- Work with other departments including the operations and sales teams to implement an effective sales strategy for the area
- Deliver effective tender responses to specific customer opportunities
- Submit accurate and timely business forecasts
- Use the sales tools in line with the agreed sales process to maintain and develop sales pipeline and customer information
- Maintain appropriate records on clients and sales activities. Produce reports as required to the management team for review and complete any customer reporting that may be required within required timescales.
- Uses a consultative approach to sell the benefits of Bunzl Catering Supplies to clients
- Liaise with other departments (internal sales, purchasing, operations, credit control, regional offices etc) to ensure the smooth running and improvement of the accounts and business
- Use researched information when solving problems and apply logic when handling conflict
- Work to a high specification in order to improve and maintain quality
- Work with purchasing team, commercial team and manufacturers to achieve maximum profit opportunities.
- Bring a sense of urgency to situations, demonstrate an active approach, be willing to get involved in order to increase the pace and achieve goals and objectives
- Following orders through to delivery, ensuring product arrives safely and customer receives the best experience possible, to provide quick and easy resolutions where required
- Produce sales reports as required
- Communicate weekly movements as required by an agreed set of SOPs
- Utilise IT systems and MIT to provide relevant customer related data on every customer review
- Ensure that bespoke and customer specific stock is managed and appropriate levels of stock are maintained for customers and the business.
This is an home-based National/New business role providing drive sales in a sector specific environment. The successful candidate will seek out the views and ideas of a range of stakeholders (including those who are not specifically in their own area) as well as demonstrating an ability to win through collaboration. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to delegate and recognises and be able to demonstrate the importance of giving time to others. The correct candidate will also have their focus on the customer, recognising the value of understanding the customers underlying needs.
