Role Title

Assistant Merchandiser

Role Profile

My client is a leading card, gift and stationary retailer. They are looking for an established Assistant Merchandiser to join their hard working and energetic team in their South London office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run weekly reports to aid sales meeting conversations
  • Analyse performance with the Buying team
  • Identify gaps and suggest changes that should be made
  • Liaise with the Buyer to implement and manage trial ranges
  • Work closely with the Buyer to manage product life cycle
  • Attend and make suggestions in meetings to help develop range strategy
  • Liaise with the stores when required
  • Provide analysis and reviews for sales meetings
  • Create allocations and raise replenishment orders when the MAA is absent
  • Efficiently plan ranges considering space, ranging and grading to optimise the use of space in stores
  • Understand how to work with an automatic replenishment system
  • Manage the MAA's workload
  • Liaise with suppliers - maintaining and building relationships
  • Conduct shop and competitor visits



Skills & Experience

  • Currently working as an established Assistant Merchandiser
  • Experience covering card, gift or stationary categories
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Proficient with MS Office - especially Excel
  • Previous retail experience
  • Experience of preparing allocations and working with an automatic replenishment system
  • High accuracy and attention to detail
  • Great organisational and analytical skills
  • Strong communications skills - both verbal and written
  • Ability to work towards deadlines
  • Enjoy being part of a vibrant and energetic team
  • Team player
