Role Profile
Our client, an established retailer based in the North West, is looking to appoint an Assistant Merchandiser to join their friendly and supportive Merchandising team voted 'team of the year' in 2018. Reporting into the Merchandiser, you will support them in the day to day running of the product range covering all sales channels and assist them with key tasks to deliver sales and margin targets, delivering target stock levels. This is hands on and varied role where you will work closely with others across the wider business and your opinions will be valued by the senior team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Merchandise Assistant / Assistant Merchandiser to join an established retailer who have a good reputation for selling high quality products. As this business is not located near public transport links, you will need to drive and own a car.
Responsibilities
- Running of weekly reports covering Sales, Stock, POs and Cover, reviewing data and providing insight into figures, form recommendations to discuss with the line manager and agreeing proposed actions to drive sales and margin
- Product setup, PO date amendments, raising of POs and loading of barcodes
- Carrying out ad hoc analysis as required by the line manager, reviewing data and proposing actions to drive profit
- Assisting with WSSI maintenance and management, flagging any issues within the WSSI data that may require action
- Managing all product setup, maintaining 100% accuracy throughout and performing website checks ensuring product ranges look as desired online
- Assisting the line manager with Critical Path maintenance to deliver key tasks in a timely manner
- Undertaking competitor analysis, highlight risks and opportunities especially at key times of pricing and forecasting
- Maintaining line cards
- Working with the Allocator to manage product availability in stores
- Covering product availability with the warehouse teams to ensure products are available in pickable locations
- Carrying out weekly reviews of stock by channel, ensuring stock is utilised in the most efficient channel, proposing and executing actions to drive sales and profitability
Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes
- Retail merchandising experience is essential at MAA / AM level
- An understanding of the role of a merchandiser
- Understanding of the WSSI, line cards and critical path
- Enthusiastic, happy to help attitude
- Ability to work at a fast pace and adapt quickly to change
- Excellent communication and team working skills
- Due to the location of the business, it would be beneficial to drive and own a car
