Role Profile
Our client, a market leading retail business, is looking to appoint an Assistant Merchandiser to join their growing team based in Liverpool. Playing a key part within the merchandising team, you will be involved in everything from stock level reviews through to weekly, seasonal and adhoc reporting. You will have a good understanding of what is / isn't selling and how to maximise profitability. You will ideally have experience in a similar retail head office role, working as an Allocator / Merchandise Assistant. You will work alongside the buying team ensuring the business always has the right stock, in the right place, at the right time. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join a leading retail business offering further development opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Analyse line level sell through by grade of store and feed back
- Monitor/forecast the size of range for each grade of store
- Suggest what lines to in/exclude in lower graded stores - on a monthly basis
- Work with Buying and Merchandising to understand the product ranges
- Agree and Set Minimum and Maximum trigger levels
- Work with Branch Merchandising to understand store space/strengths/limitations
- Ensure new lines are going to all stores
- Trigger ranges in new stores
- store visits to understand the space/sales/option dynamics
- Liaise with Import Merchandisers
- Liaise with store managers to understand the trading opportunities
Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes
- Retail head office merchandising experience at Allocator / Merchandise Assistant is essential
- Self-motivated, self-starter who displays self-confidence and initiative
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment is essential
- Can cope with multiple tasks retaining a high level of accuracy
- Planning and Organisational skills - utilising time and prioritising to ensure deadlines are achieved
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Hardworking and flexible attitude to work, time management skills
- Commercial awareness
- Excellent Excel/ IT skills
- Good numerical/ analytical ability
