Role Profile
Part of the FTSE100 listed Bunzl PLC, Bunzl Healthcare is one of the UK's largest distributors of leading branded and own-brand medical consumables to all areas of the healthcare market. They offer a range of traditional and bespoke supply chain solutions to meet their customers' requirements in today's rapidly changing healthcare environment.
As part of Bunzl Healthcare's 3-year sales and growth strategy for the private healthcare market, they have identified a requirement to add a new Business Development Manager to their team. The new role will help Bunzl achieve and exceed their sales and margin budget and directly manage customer relationships within the private healthcare market. Bunzl plan to significantly increase sales through adopting innovative approaches to the market and driving digitisation of the Bunzl offering whilst also continuing to offer exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- To achieve targeted sales, revenue and gross profit from a designated portfolio of national and prospect accounts including Private Health Groups, Independent Private Hospitals and clinics
- Undertake all necessary site visits and call plans to support customer development
- Constantly seeking new opportunities to expand the portfolio and increase Sales channel margin through prospecting new customers, regaining lost business, range extension, working with external suppliers and with our "Own Brand" offering
- To understand and be aware of any SLA's and ensure that their requirements are adhered to
- Assist the Management Team in working with cross functional teams in addressing cost, price and range management issues. Particularly Supplier engagement.
- To act as a support function in resolving issues at a local level either by direct involvement or by working with the wider Bunzl Healthcare teams
- To use personal levels of market place, service and product knowledge to support customer requirements and aspirations
- To work alongside the PHG team and independently with key decision makers and influencers within all accounts to create a higher profile for Bunzl Healthcare
- To provide a day to day contact point for appropriate personnel within customer organisations.
Skills & Experience Required
- Demonstrable background as an Account Manager/ Key Account Manager/ Business Account Manager / Business Development Manager
- Experience working in the Healthcare sector would be advantageous
- Strong influencing skills with the ability to build long term relationships both internally and externally
- Flexible to travel across client locations
- Excellent communication skills with ability to engage at all levels
