Buyer/Planner Role

Cast UK are looking to recruit a Buyer/Planner for a brilliant company based in Leicester.

This is a great role for a planner who would like to get a foot in the door into buying. This opportunity will suit a driven and enthusiastic individual who is used working in a fast paced environment and can think on their feet.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and analyse the demand profile for all SKU's.
  • Manage the price file for each supplier and ensure that the pricing of each SKU is kept current.
  • Place and manage the purchase orders for the set of suppliers under their responsibility.
  • Expedite and De-Expedite our purchase orders as required to maximise product availability.
  • Carefully measure and monitor our level of backorder and take appropriate action to minimise back-order level and to escalate key supply issues.
  • Supplier Performance Management - maintain close and regular communication with our supply base.
  • Manage inventory
  • Analysis and management of excess/obsolete stock
  • Manage the delivery process from ordering, shipping and delivery to UK
  • Create cost savings for the business by negotiating with suppliers
  • Manage a stock inventory in excess of £2million with a yearly spend total of £20million.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have-

  • Excellent MRP knowledge & proficent knowledge of Excel
  • Strong communication skills and a history of working/ managing suppliers
  • Used to working in a fast paced role and environment
  • Desired knowldege of implementing process and systems
  • Background in healthcare is desired but not essential
  • History of working with international suppliers
