Role Profile
Bunzl Catering Supplies, part of the Bunzl Catering & Hospitality Division, is the leading distributor of disposables, packaging and hygiene solutions to the hospitality and catering sectors in the UK. Delivering to a variety of customers in both the private and public sector from small independent cafe owners, local health trusts and schools to national hotel and restaurant chains.
As the exclusive recruitment partner for Bunzl Catering, Cast UK have been instructed to recruit a Buyer for the businesses new centralised purchasing team. The role will be based in Bunzl Caterings Head Office in either Epsom or Theale and the ideal candidate will be based in the Surrey/Berkshire area. The Buyers primary task of this role is to Manage and co-ordinate all activities related to the procurement of goods. The successful candidate is also responsible for Reviewing product and product sub-categories within the non-food disposable portfolio, conferring with suppliers and other key stakeholders to ensure the right product at the right price.
Key Responsibilities
- Focused to achieve targets, budgets, and results. Make the most of all opportunities with the aim to achieve budget as an individual and part of a team by following quotes through to product selection by delivering best possible prices to our sales teams.
- Category Management
- Developing category plans (immediate, mid and long term)
- Identifying new products to meet market trends and review existing product portfolios
- Regular meetings with existing suppliers to manage the category.
- Support sales team in tender opportunities and recruitment of new customers
- Working on Customer strategy plans with the Sales team
- Proactively assess market trends and create opportunities and solutions to present to the sales teams
- Support the Sustainability strategy and be a driver for change
This is an office-based Buyer role providing support to the procurement team in a sector specific environment. The successful candidate will be commercially aware perfectionist who has an innate need to get things right. Ideally the person fulfilling the role will have specialist/technical skills and will work within an area of knowledge and expertise. Ideally the person should be conventional, co-operative, organised and have the ability to regularly revaluate workload to prioritise key tasks.
