Role Profile
Part of the FTSE100 listed Bunzl PLC, Bunzl Healthcare is one of the UK's largest distributors of leading branded and own-brand medical consumables to all areas of the healthcare market. They offer a range of traditional and bespoke supply chain solutions to meet their customers' requirements in today's rapidly changing healthcare environment.
The business is looking to add to their forever evolving Buying team. The incumbent to this role will be responsible for reviewing product and product sub-categories within the medical device portfolio, conferring with suppliers and other key stakeholders to ensure the right product at the right price.
Key Responsibilities
- To manage a discrete number of medical consumables categories and associated key suppliers to deliver customer and supplier needs
- To manage the operational aspects of the chosen categories such as the New Product Introduction process, price file accuracy, new business quotations and ship thru / rebate agreements / margin impact
- To support sales and margin improvement through supplier negotiations and collaborative working
- To manage the risk profile of your categories through effective use of contracting
- Work closely with the Sales representatives to support the delivery of agreed customer and supplier action plans
- Develop an understanding of your designated categories to help drive improved category performance
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with all your lead designated suppliers
- Hold regular business review meetings with your key suppliers and deliver targeted action plans to improve category
- Work closely with Sales, suppliers to identify improved sales and margin growth opportunities
- Manage category margins and sell thru prices through effective negotiations
Skills & Experience
- Would suit a Junior Buyer/Buying Assistant looking to progress within their career
- 1-2 years Buying/Junior Buyer/Buying Assistant experience
- Experience of working within an FMCG environment preferably within the healthcare industry
- Ability to negotiate complex contracts
