Category Manager


£45,000 - £50,000 plus excellent benefits

Role Profile

Our client, an international business based in Birmingham, is looking to appoint a Category Manager to join their established Procurement team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and forward thinking company which is currently enjoying unrivalled growth and success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement category strategy for a defined spend area
  • Deliver savings and value added through strategic procurement activity
  • Manage tenders and negotiations for high value and complex contracts
  • Develop and maintain key supplier relationships
  • Manage a small category team

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in a strategic procurement or category management role
  • Experience of Indirect categories such as Professional Services
  • Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Ability to lead projects and large scale Procurement activities at a senior level
  • Line management experience

Candidates with MCIPS qualification are preferred.
