Role Profile

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a growing team and a company which is always striving for continuous improvement. The company is looking at bringing in an experienced Category Manager who will be leading a small team and will be responsible for their large spend. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a small team of Buyers and managing the teams large spend
  • Creating and developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Implementing the procurement/sourcing strategy across departments and with the supplier base
  • Managing ongoing supplier performance and developing relationships while sourcing a new supplier base
  • Delivering savings and supply chain efficiencies through strategic negotiation and procurement
  • Demonstrating the ability to work across departments
  • Identifying and implementing sourcing strategies
  • Maximise quality and minimise costs
  • Reflecting the company's high values and strong work ethic

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience in Procurement, specifically in appliance purchasing
  • Proven negotiation skills and commercial acumen
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement and change management skills

The following may also prove to be an advantage:

  • Previous experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge commercial procurement
  • Previous experience in an FMCG environment
  • MCIPS or part CIPS qualification
