Head of HR & Training
£70,000 - £75,000 + Benefits Package

Role Profile
Cast UK have been instructed to recruit an experienced Head of HR and Training for one of our leading customers who is an instantly recognisable logistics business with sites throughout the UK. As a key member of the senior leadership team the role will assume full HR responsibility for all sites supported by a direct team of HR Managers and a wider support network. The Head of HR & Training will be involved across all levels of the operation from annual strategy planning with the senior leadership team to ongoing operational issues within the workforce. Other responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop and implement HR & Training Plans and agreed policies in support of commercial goals
  • Develop and implement consistent, productive innovative recruitment practices.
  • Play a key role in the identification of talent and ensure opportunities exist to develop that talent to the benefit of the individual and the business.
  • Lead the regional HR Managers and their teams by providing expertise and support whilst promoting best practice and high standards.
  • Work collaboratively with, develop and coach the DC management teams to improve culture and behaviors across the sites.
  • Actively manage and improve attendance levels at sites

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop close working relationships with the leadership team and be an integral part of the review and management of the operation.
  • Develop and deliver HR solutions to attract, retain and develop a cohesive team of colleagues who can deliver all operational aspects of the division.
  • Ensure all HR processes and procedures are implemented consistently throughout the multiple UK locations.
  • Establish and drive learning and development programmes and training initiatives across multiple levels.
  • Work with the leadership team to ensure all activities relating to corporate responsibility are carried out efficiently.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership to create, develop and implement key strategy projects throughout the year

Skills & Experience
Candidates applying for the opportunity must have a proven operational HR background with previous exposure to working across supply chain and logistics operations covering multiple site locations in a blue collar environment. Being able to evidence a background in driving learning and development across a workforce is also key to the position. The role will involve sporadic travel throughout the UK therefore flexibility and experience of doing this previously would be advantageous.
