Head of Procurement- EU

The Role
Based in London, UK or Malle, Belgium and reporting to the Global Director of Procurement, The Head of Procurement - EU is responsible for leading the procurement function within the region's Supply Chain organization. This position will provide strategic leadership, build capability and deliver sustainable results in sourcing and procurement, in a way that is consistent with the organization's strategic direction and financial objectives.

Areas of Responsibility
*Lead development and implementation of regional sourcing strategies for all direct spend categories (chemicals, packaging, and contract manufacturing) and any indirect spend categories as needed.
*Manage the EU procurement team and ensure outstanding growth, coaching and development to build capability and depth within Supply Chain.
*Partner with our NA procurement team on global procurement opportunities and RFP's.
*Bring vision and adherence to the sourcing strategy process and criteria to bring new suppliers (and further develop existing suppliers) ensuring the right capacity and capabilities to support the business.
*Identify sources and procure innovative new sustainable materials to forward our sustainability and product performance goals.
*Lead procurement RFI / RFP events (with key stakeholder inputs on success criteria) to deliver year-on-year cost savings, create credible supplier competition and reduce supply risk by introducing secondary sources.
*Develop and utilize leading edge procurement tools (for critical spends) such as 'should cost' and 'total cost of ownership' models to ensure competitive value and increased transparency into the supplier cost structure.
*For strategic supply relationships, create and utilize an integrated scorecard (cost, quality, service, innovation etc) to measure supplier performance and create year-on-year continuous improvement objectives.
*Partner with legal to develop contract forms and lead supplier contract negotiations on business critical spends.
*Partner with Quality, Project Management, Logistics and Planning to ensure an integrated, complete, and seamless supply chain approach to introducing and qualifying new suppliers.
*Partner with R&D and Marketing to support new product introductions, specifically taking ownership for sourcing new suppliers and supplier capabilities, obtaining new supplier quotes, COGS development on new products, meeting sustainability goals and objectives and supply risk management.
*Lead the development and reporting of the commodity and cost inflation outlook for the regional operating plan.

Qualifications and Experience
*10+ years of procurement management experience (Consumer Packaged Goods preferred). Sales experience on the raw material (chemical) side a plus.
*4-year degree in chemistry. Consumer product formulation experience a plus.
*Expert knowledge of contract negotiation and sourcing methodologies.
*Extensive experience in managing and developing a team.
*Ability to think globally, strategically, and objectively. Aptness for translating data into viable action plans and strategies.
*Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make prudent business decisions and manage day-to-day operational issues.
*Skilled in building relationships and strategic alliances internally and externally. Proven success in collaboratively influencing teams to meet strategic objectives.
*Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight timeframes and deadlines.
*Stamina, character, proactive approach and work ethic appropriate for a fast-paced, team-oriented, growth company.
