Interim Programme & Project Manager - (NPD and General Project Management)


Day Rate DoE

Role Profile

Our client, who is a market leading FMCG business, is looking for an interim Project Manager to join their Head office team based in Reading. You will be responsible for the day-to-day project management of NPD teams to implement and execute key milestones in order to successfully launch products across countries in the UK and EMEA. The successful candidate will act as a point of ownership for product launches from idea/concept through to commercialisation using a stage gate process - so a real understanding of NPD and NPI is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive projects through all stages of development from concept to availability at local DC across all countries
  • Create and manage the project timeline by identifying project dependencies and critical path
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion as project evolves
  • Develop and report a full set of KPI's and project updates on a regular basis to key stakeholders
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential challenges, and devise contingency plans
  • Build rapport and gain commitment from key cross-functional global team members to ensure tasks are completed

Skills & Experience

  • Prince2 Qualified
  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a Project Management environment - FMCG
  • Experience setting up projects and managing until launch or completion
  • Familiar with cross functional, cross departmental and multi-cultural environment in a matrix organisation
  • Experience in operations, R&D, Innovation
  • Commercially driven with a proven track record of delivering proactive and reactive plans assessing cost and benefit
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate data against key indicators, to monitor programs, projects and plans to set targets.
  • Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset and dynamic approach
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet financial targets and experience of budget preparation
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
