Junior Buyer (Homeware)
Up to £30k depending on skills & experience

Role Profile
Our client, a market leading retail business, is looking to appoint a Junior Buyer to join their already successful and growing head office team. Working on the Homeware department, you will play a key-part in supporting the Senior Buyer to develop this category further. This is an important role where you may be required to stand-in for the Senior Buyer on occasion, therefore the position would ideally suit an established Junior Buyer or an Assistant Buyer with a strong trading background. You will be a fast-learner who can adapt to change quickly and be able to cope with the pace and pressure of a fast-paced retail business. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic individual with homeware experience to join a dynamic, busy and successful head office team.


  • Control supplier negotiations to maximize profit
  • Ordering a specific range of products
  • Maintaining stock levels
  • Ensure suppliers meet the business requirements in terms of sales and margin
  • Stepping in for the Senior Buyer if ever they are away
  • Identifying new products and opportunities in the market
  • Competitor analysis
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure stock levels are achievable

Skills & Experience

  • Currently working as a Junior Buyer or established Assistant with Junior responsibilities (essential)
  • Homeware experience is essential
  • Trading skills in a retail environment
  • Common sense approach to buying
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Commercially aware
  • Strong relationship builder
  • Drive and motivation
