Role Profile
Our client, a market leading fashion retailer based in the North West, is looking to appoint a number of Junior Merchandisers due to growth. Reporting into the department Senior Merchandiser, you will support in leading the team to deliver sales, markdown, stock, intake and profit plans, deputising for them in their absence. You will be passionate about product and have the ability to react quickly to change, working in an extremely fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity for a number of ambitious and established Assistant Merchandisers / Senior Assistant Merchandisers with core, bricks and mortar experience to join one of the UK's fastest growing retailers with development opportunities and excellent staff benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing weekly trading performance, identifying issues and the course of action in preparation for Monday Trade
- Ensuring the WSSI is updated with the buy plan and the KPI's are signed off with the Merchandiser
- Supporting the Merchandiser in formulating the space and grading plan for store distribution
- Reviewing previous seasons and producing SWOT Analysis' with supporting information
- Attending key selection meetings with the Merchandiser and Buyer
- Building the range plan
- Overviewing the ratios for all buys in conjunction with Assistant Merchandiser
- Establishing strong working relationships with the supplier base
- Managing the order books both in season and pre-season, ensuring that the most accurate information is always available
- Proposing and agreeing actions to recover risk and maximise opportunities with the Merchandiser and Buyer at category and line level
- Managing line cards
- Managing intake at category and line level
- Visiting and understanding stores, creating action plans to optimise store performance
- Managing the store option plans to ensure each store has the optimum amount of stock and not overstocked or lacking key lines
Skills & Experience
- Fashion retail merchandising experience at established Assistant Merchandiser / Senior Assistant Merchandiser level is essential
- Core, bricks and mortar experience is required to allow you to hit the ground running and adapt quickly to understand each store and how to trade it
- Strong Excel skills and WSSI / line card experience
- Ability to cope and stay calm / focussed in a fast-paced working environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Strong analytical / numerical skills
- Team player
- Passion for product
