Role Profile
My client, an established and growing online home retailer, is looking to appoint an E-commerce Merchandiser to join their head office team based in Burnley. Reporting into the Merchandise Manager, this is a hands-on and autonomous role where you will be responsible for stock analysis, forecasting, and website improvement. This £60m+ turnover business trades via a number of websites across the globe with plans for further expansion, therefore there is potential for the right candidate to drive forward their own progression. You will work closely with the web team, making recommendations and analysing the effects of these changes. This is a fantastic opportunity for an analytical and confident Merchandiser with a strong trading mentality and stock stock management and forecasting skills to join a close-knit, down to earth and supportive team. Candidates at strong Assistant Merchandiser level and above will be considered. E-commerce merchandising experience is essential.
Responsibilities
- Running weekly reports covering Sales, Stock, POs etc.
- Reviewing data, providing insight into figures
- Making recommendations to line manager and agreeing proposed actions to drive sales and margin
- Minimising risk and maximising sales potential by analysing sales and prioritising bestselling/lowest cover lines
- Forecasting weekly sales, stock & intake at category level
- Analysing slow moving stock, creating solutions to reduce stock holding whilst maximising turnover
- Planning of budgets by category, option count and depth of buy based on the overall financial goals of the division
- Assisting with the WSSI maintenance and management, flagging any issues noticed within the WSSI data that may require action
- Raising product POs as required, working with the line manager to carry out size ratio analysis to use on the buys
- Front-end Merchandising, instructing web team as to what changes to make then analysing and following up the effects
- Making improvement suggestions and working with the Brand Managers to enact change requirements that drive sales and customer experience
- Assisting with Critical Path maintenance to deliver key tasks in a timely manner, flagging any potential issues surrounding the critical path to the line manager
Skills & Experience
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in retail merchandising is essential
- E-commerce merchandising experience is essential as this is a pure play digital retailer
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Strong trading mentality with excellent forecasting and stock management skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Commercial in thinking
- Excellent communication skills
