Merchandiser - FMCG
Up to 30k depending on skills & experience

Role Profile
My client, a leading Health & Beauty wholesale business, is looking to appoint an established FMCG Merchandiser to join their head office team based in Manchester. This is a fast-paced and exciting role where you will be responsible in supporting the Category Manager with the provision of 'Category Management and Merchandising' services to key FMCG customer accounts. The role is pivotal in the delivery of services to key accounts and you will be a key member of staff building strong internal relationships with buying, marketing and operational teams, whilst also supporting the Senior Management Team. You will need to forge excellent relationships with the Customer's Buying and Supply chain teams to deliver exceptional customer service. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic Merchandiser with FMCG experience to join a growing wholesale business with a turnover of approx. £60m supplying into over 5,000 retailers.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Product File Management - Listing new products with customers and maintaining stock file accuracy
  • Forecasting - updating customer forecasting models using various data sets
  • Inventory Management - projecting requirements and planning intake with the buying team to meet them
  • Operational Planning - to formulate detailed plans by SKU for in and outbound
  • Management Reporting - producing weekly management reports using Customer databases and internal data
  • Range Planning - assisting with the analysis of customer sales data in order to formulate future ranging proposals
  • Engaging with Customers by email, phone and face to face

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in retail / supply Merchandising (FMCG) which could encompass Core Merchandising, Business reporting, Supply Chain Management and Operational Planning
  • Microsoft office including excellent Excel skills [formulas, conditional formulas, V Lookups and pivot tables]
  • Highly numerical and analytical with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent planning skills with the ability to lead through various tasks
  • Organisation, motivation and time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A team player with flexibility
  • Strong Customer facing skills
