Role Profile
Our client, a market leading retailer based in Liverpool, is looking to appoint a Merchandiser to join their growing head office team. Playing a key part within the merchandising supply chain team, you will be responsible for the accurate forecasting/ maximising availability of a specific product range across the store portfolio. You will be an excellent communicator, liaising with internal contacts including the buying team, DC/ warehouse, store managers and external suppliers. This position will ideally suit a quick thinking and experienced Junior Merchandiser/ Merchandiser/ Supply Planner, ideally with experience on a seasonal/ FMCG category, who thrives on working in an incredibly fast-paced environment. Your experience in stock control, strategic planning and forecasting will allow you to hit the ground running and drive category sales growth, contributing to the continuous expansion of this already hugely successful retailer. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Monitor/forecast the size of range for each grade of store
- Suggest what lines to in/exclude in lower graded stores
- Work with Buying to understand product ranges
- Agree and set minimum and maximum trigger levels
- Ensure new lines are going to all stores
- Conduct store visits to understand space/sales/option dynamics
- Liaise with store managers to understand trading opportunities
Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes
- You must have experience in a similar merchandising/ supply planning role working for a retailer
- FMCG experience dealing with UK suppliers would be advantageous
- Excellent Excel skills
- Good numerical/ analytical ability
- Self-motivated, self-starter who displays self-confidence and initiative
- Can cope with multiple tasks retaining a high level of accuracy
- Planning and organisational skills - utilising time and prioritising to ensure deadlines are achieved
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Hardworking and flexible attitude to work, time management skills
- Commercial awareness
