Role Profile
Our client, an award-winning homeware supplier, is looking to appoint a Merchandiser to join their dynamic and friendly head office team based in South Manchester. Reporting into the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for managing a number of customer accounts and your primary focus is to ensure their needs are met. You will manage the critical path to ensure stocks is delivered to the customer on time, keeping them in the loop in regards to order status and ensuring they are made aware of any issues. Liaising with customers who are major retailers on a daily basis, you will be confident and have excellent communication skills in order to maintain strong working relationships. You will be a forward thinker who has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and react quickly to change. This position will ideally suit a bright, confident and analytical graduate with strong Excel skills and a business-related degree. Responsibilities
- Conducting weekly range reviews and discussing 'forecast vs sales' variances with customers
- Working closely with customers to help identify potential stock issues and solutions, to allow better planning
- Understanding shipping requirements for customers, ensuring FOB and direct shipments run smoothly by reviewing customer manuals at time of order
- Management of the numbers and phasing within selection sheets, to feed into PRIMA & Forecast PRO
- Conducting weekly customer reviews and subsequent stock re-phasing within PRIMA & Forecast PRO to minimise instances of excess buys and out of stock issues
- Maximising sales opportunities with customers
- Maximising on-time deliveries with customers
- Handling customer PO/stock queries
- Working closely with all internal departments
- Managing internal business and customer expectations under pressure
- Managing KPI's and ensuring lead times & critical paths are adhered to by customers and internally
- Maintaining forecast accuracy
Skills & Experience
- A relevant degree (business, economics, mathematics etc.) is essential
- Methodical with high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst delivering results
- Analytical with a good level of numeracy and literacy
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel in particular
- Confident, personable and well-presented with a positive, can-do attitude
- The ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
- Due to the location of the business it would be ideal to drive/ own a vehicle
