Role Profile
An established market leading waste Logistics business are looking for an experienced individual who has a proven track-record of managing large teams within a fast-paced, busy environment. This is an exciting & rewarding role which will be based at their distribution centre in North Somerset. Reporting into the Regional Manager, you will be accountable for a large team with full site responsibility, ensuring KPI's are being adhered to, and that high standards are maintained throughout the operation.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Planning collection rounds ensuring to maximise vehicle and labour resources efficiently
  • Provide support and guidance to Supervisors at all times
  • To maintain good communications with the crews during the working day to ensure payloads are maximised, breakdowns are speedily resolved and that generally work is completed as required by the Business
  • To support the Business Manager in all aspects of financial expenditure
  • Ensuring site adherence to company policy and applicable legislation with regard to all aspects of the operation including health and safety.
  • Promoting a positive work culture.
  • People management- overseeing a large team of colleagues, ensuring engagement and strong focus on development/ up skilling existing staff.
  • Supporting and leading company projects and initiatives as required.
  • Recruitment, retention and development of the operational team.
  • Manage operations in line with budget and overall business expectations.


Skills & Experience

It is essential that you have a background working within blue-chip organisations, and experience working within a fast-paced, time critical environment.

  • Demonstrative analytical knowledge of using WMS systems to a competent and proficient standard.
  • People and health & safety management in a unionised environment, including disciplinaries, grievances, recruitment, etc.
  • Proven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPI's
  • Experience of vehicle management - CPC, tachos, Road Transport Directive
