Commercial Planning Analyst
£18-20k depending on skills & experience

Role Profile
My client, a nationally recognised retailer is looking to recruit a Commercial Planning Analyst with excellent analytical and IT/ Excel skills to join their rapidly expanding head office team based in Plymouth. You will have previous experience in a similar role where you will have undertaken planning or analytical work. You must be a customer facing and confident individual as you will be required to meet with suppliers early on and work with a wide range of individuals from different departments across the wider business. This is a great opportunity for a driven individual with the concept of what analysing data is to draw conclusions and make recommendations, to join a successful, well-respected and growing retail business with progression prospects.


  • To work in conjunction with the Commercial Planning Manager, Merchandising Planners, Buying Teams, Space Planning and Logistics to assist with promotion product nominations, promotional exit strategies, promotional switch overs, stock and ensure sufficient stock is in store
  • Assist and review promotional forecasts and store stock holding
  • Updating/Running a variety of excel reports
  • Assisting in the review and analyses of competitor pricing and promotional activity
  • Assist in the review and analysis of new store opening promotional products
  • Create monthly presentations based on company performance
  • Send out weekly requests/updates to buyers
  • Product analysis
  • Assist in the planning of entry and exit promotional strategies
  • Collating various information from Stores
  • Assist with the planning of monthly Store Event Bays
  • Assisting in any additional business requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role (desirable)
  • A relevant degree (i.e. Mathematics, Statistics or Business Studies) would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to communicate well at all levels within an organisation
  • Strong IT Skills
  • Ability to run reports/ look at numbers to analyse raw data & make conclusions
  • Strong/advanced excel skills with understanding of formula
  • Experience using Microsoft Access & PowerPoint desirable
