Role Profile
Our client, who is a leading Logistics business with a global network, are looking to recruit a Sales Director. Reporting into the executive team, you will be accountable for delivering a broad and deep relationship with strategic customers, ensuring a longer term strategic relationship is maintained. The role will be based out of Yorkshire but will include travel around the network and to customer locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an deep understanding of the customer's business using a variety of sources and identify and explore commercial opportunities.
  • Developing and maintaining long term strategic relationships with key customers.
  • Develop innovative solutions for customers that support current product and service portfolio .
  • Prepare bespoke strategic plans to maximise opportunities and value for both parties.
  • Monitor performance of strategic plans and evaluate successes, risks and opportunities and formulate plans to address these.
  • Identify key influencers and decision-makers within our key customers business and develop an action plan to deepen client relationships
  • Align Commercial Strategy to support the delivery of business objectives across all key accounts
  • Overall responsibility for the effective on-boarding of new clients.
  • Create business plans for current key clients and tender opportunities for future business
  • Serve as key point of contact between customers and internal teams
  • Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key metrics
  • Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives and maximises customer retention.
  • Develop and implement leading, consistent disciplines and activities to ensure that the business has ongoing healthy commercial growth
  • Leading the sales growth in line with company targets
  • Develop the annual sales plan, providing weekly, monthly and quarterly updates, revisions and modifications to the plan

Skills & Experience

  • Experience and understanding of working within the Logistics industry is essential
  • Import/ Export and 3PL background would be highly desirable
  • Proven track record operating at Sales Director/ Head of Sales & Business Development is essential
  • Focus across developing new business and account management
  • Background managing multiple key customers
  • Flexible apporach to travel is needed
