Role Title
Senior Assistant Merchandiser
Up to £28k depending on experience

Role Profile
Our client, an established retailer based in Greater Manchester, is looking to appoint an outgoing, enthusiastic and Senior Assistant Merchandiser to join their growing team. Reporting into the Merchandiser, you will support the team to maximise your departments commercial opportunities throughout the network of stores and online. You will play a key part in the effective management of stock intake, driving sales through improved availability and reducing mark down and IBT's to maximise profit. You will be an established Assistant Merchandiser, currently working in a fast-paced trading environment with forecasting / planning experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright, analytical and hardworking individual to join a well-known retailer with development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing line manager with historical analysis to develop Quarterly / Seasonal Planning Forecasts for product areas of responsibility
  • Providing information to create Quarterly / Seasonal strategies for departments relating to all KPI's
  • Preparing store and product reviews in preparation for the weekly Monday trade meeting
  • Providing trading actions to optimise department sales and margin
  • Identifying priority stores for the week, reviewing and proposing actions
  • Undertaking store visits, creating and executing action plans to improve trade
  • Manage line cards
  • Create ratios for all buys
  • Ensuring order books are reconciled with suppliers
  • Checking price adjustments
  • Checking product landing in the warehouse has the correct Cost and Retail price and that the margin reflects correctly
  • Assisting the Merchandiser to manage intake flow into business to hit monthly forecasts, driving sales and minimising risks
  • Controlling branch inventory levels, allocations and replenishment



Skills, Experience & Attributes

  • Currently working at established Assistant Merchandiser level or above in a fast-paced retailer
  • Strong planning and analytical skills
  • Store experience would be beneficial
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure and make decisions with good judgement
  • Passion for product and the brand
  • Bright, driven and confident
  • Highly organised and methodical
