Role Profile
Our client, a leading retail / wholesale business based in Milton Keynes, are looking for an experienced supply chain planner to join an established team of planners and optimise the flow of stock and storage capacities through the Supply Chain Network. The ideal candidate will come from a background including extensive Supply Planning / Supply Analyst experience as well as a strong working knowledge of Distribution Centre operation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • People Management - motivate, coach, drive team personal development
  • To forge collaborative working relationships across Commercial & Supply Chain functions to positively influence the stock agenda, creating change momentum
  • Analyse central stock holding reports, to identify high/long stock cover product lines and positively influence key stakeholders (Buyers) to resolve
  • Analyse central stock & sales reporting to identify and implement changes to stock flow to optimise capacities
  • Agree & lock down forward Inbound Supply plan (Import & Domestic) on minimum 4 week horizon. Agree optimum DC location and flow through process based on product cube, rate of sale
  • To analyse plans for key events such as promotional activity, range reviews, monitor and ensure stock exit strategy in DC is completed
  • Lead and drive stock action groups to ensure discontinued stock is cleared to the agreed exit plan
  • To analyse the impact of network growth (new lines) and provide recommendations to improve efficiency
  • To be a key interface into Network Strategy development projects and activities

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Head office Supply Chain / Stock flow analyst role
  • Good knowledge of Supply Chain Principles
  • Good level of understanding of Distribution Centre operation processes
  • Proven People Management skills
  • Advanced data trending analysis skills
  • Highly skilled communicator with the ability to forge and maintain collaborative relationships both internally and externally
  • Ability and capacity to create momentum and drive change
  • Proven ability to influence
  • Credible presence / gravitas
  • Resilient self starter
  • Advanced level Excel, Word, Access Database
  • Ability to think beyond existing conventions when solving challenges
  • Strong commercial awareness
