Role Profile
Cast UK are working in partnership with Bunzl Catering Supplies, the leading distributor of disposables, packaging and hygiene solutions to the hospitality and catering, public sector, education, and healthcare sectors in in the UK. Part of Bunzl PLC, who are a FTSE 100 business, the companies are seeing continued growth across their operation by developing existing accounts and by attracting new customers. Due to the complexity of the NDC operation they are now looking to recruit a Warehouse Operations Manager who has a proven record of working as operational lead, with in a fast-paced, complex operation. This opportunity is based within the business' high profile 166,000 sq ft NDC operation based in Tamworth which is the heartbeat of the company's operational network.
The Warehouse Operations Manager will be responsible for the management of all operational processes, ensuring the effective and accurate flow of goods inwards, replenishment and NDC pick. A strong people and process manager is sought who ensures employees are empowered to take calculated risks within the operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain metrics and KPIs to ensure a smooth and efficient Warehouse Operation
- Lead, develop and motivate employees ensuring delivery of performance requirements in line with accountability, role and responsibility.
- Create and maintain an environment in which employees feel motivated to do their best work and empowered to make decisions relevant to their area of responsibility
- Ensure all disciplinary investigations are detailed, fair and consistent and carry out disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings
- Drive a zero-tolerance mindset for deviation from the use of quality processes to ensure key deliverables are met fully
- Continuously review ways to aid efficiency, add value and reduce costs as well as delivering continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved
- Ensure efficient and effective use of warehouse space to include layout and future capacity requirements
Skills & Experience Required
- Must be a proven leader of people in a busy multi-functional environment
- Strong leadership skills with focus on colleague engagement, empowerment, and overall development
- Ability to communicate on all levels, externally such as service providers to internal stakeholders such as Senior Account Managers and Purchasing Colleagues
- Proven track record of managing operational change and delivering operational efficiency and service level agreements
- Has the ability to understand an operation from ground level to enable their ability to influence others.
- Must have the operational and commercial experience to challenge the status quo to further develop CI
