Thomas Willis
As one of the newer members of the Cast UK team, I’m loving getting to know the industry and working towards providing solutions and services for businesses within my specialist field. Whether I’m working with clients or communicating with candidates, I aim to bring a level of service and professionalism that sets me apart from the competition.
The best part of my job so far has been building meaningful relationships and working with senior professionals, predominantly within Supply Chain and Procurement. I believe strong relationships and partnerships lead to outcomes that benefit everyone and make a real difference to a recruitment process.
Procurement and supply chain have rarely been more important to businesses, with rising costs, shifting regulations and ongoing disruption keeping them high on the boardroom agenda. I’m relishing the opportunity to learn from colleagues who have spent years helping organisations build stronger, more resilient teams in this space, and to get to know the people shaping the industry.
When I’m not in the office, you’ll usually find me behind a set of DJ decks, whether in a nightclub, at a corporate event or, most often, in my kitchen! I’ve been DJing for six years and have been lucky enough to play in large-scale venues in the UK and beyond, alongside some incredibly talented artists. I further my passion for music by promoting my own events. I own an events company, Waveform, which puts on events from scratch in small independent venues across Manchester, with the aim of keeping smaller, underground nightlife alive in this vibrant city.
Given the chance, you’ll never find me happier than standing at the top of a ski run. I have raced ski slalom for nine years on behalf of my school and university, and in both 2019 and 2020 I represented my school at the Great British National Ski Race Championships in Wengen, Switzerland. Competing at this level taught me the importance of organisation within a team, as well as the dedication and rigour needed to succeed in a competitive environment.
I have also performed in a number of plays, including Dennis Kelly’s DNA, and took part in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s schools performance, where we staged a modern reinterpretation of Othello.
One of my family members is a famous darts player…
