£Day Rate | 3-6 MONTH Temporary Contract | Pendle

A well-established manufacturing business based in Pendle is looking for an experienced Interim Buyer to join their team on an initial 3-6 month temporary assignment.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will play a hands-on role in supporting the day-to-day purchasing function, ensuring materials, components and services are sourced efficiently and delivered in line with operational requirements.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Buyer or Purchasing professional who is comfortable working within a manufacturing environment and can quickly make an impact.

The Role

• Raise, review and process purchase orders.
• Purchase materials, components and services in line with business requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability and delivery.
• Negotiate pricing and delivery times where appropriate.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality and delivery.
• Schedule and chase deliveries to ensure materials arrive on time.
• Work closely with Operations, Production and Inventory teams to understand purchasing requirements.
• Monitor stock levels and identify potential supply issues.
• Research and evaluate suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and service.
• Resolve purchasing, delivery and supplier issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records.
• Support continuous improvement across purchasing processes.
• Ensure suppliers meet required quality and sustainability standards.

About You

We're looking for someone with previous experience in a Buyer, Purchasing or Procurement role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.

You'll need to be:

• Experienced in hands-on purchasing and supplier management.
• Confident negotiating with suppliers.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• A strong communicator who can build relationships at all levels.
• Able to work independently and quickly get up to speed within a new business.
• Available to commit to a 3-6 month interim assignment.
