Role Profile

In this role as an experienced Supply Chain Manager it will be your responsibility to ensure our supply chain and logistics operations function properly at Scope. You will collaborate with other departments, such as Operations, Commercial, New Product Development (NPD) and Finance, to create effective business plans, so teamwork skills are important. You should also have experience in project management, as well as great leadership and communication ability. You will manage operational performance and resolve issues across our broad portfolio of products. You will collaborate with customers and suppliers to ensure all operations (e.g. shipping, delivery) meet quality and scheduling standards, as well as keeping track of logistics and updating the company's inventory

Key Responsibilities

  • Create the company's supply chain strategy
  • Evaluate and report on KPIs
  • Analyse and forecast ongoing company stock level needs
  • Monitor logistics to make sure they run smoothly
  • Maintain supply chain inventory and records
  • Train and guide employees
  • Resolve issues that arise (e.g. delays in delivery, product issues on delivery)
  • Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth
  • Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to land more profitable deals
  • Oversee the maintenance of optimum inventory levels to ensure customer needs are met, whilst balancing the need to maintain inventory levels with minimal carrying and transportation costs
  • Work closely with the Finance Director and the CEO on supplier orders and discussions for each of our products and each of the countries that we serve
  • Monitor individual third-party DC stock levels to maintain within required levels and move stock from one third party DC to another as necessary
  • Engage with third party DC's to ensure that agreed SLA's are met
  • Engage with third party DC's on all new and ongoing agreed product/pricing logistic issues
  • Placing agreed order levels with suppliers
  • Ongoing monitoring of supplier lead times
  • Engage with suppliers and freight carriers on the scheduling of deliveries and dealing with any arising issues
  • Get quotes from freight carriers
  • Working with freight carriers on custom and duties topics for each jurisdiction and product
  • Design and implement accounting and control processes/procedures in respect of non-sales outbound stock and sample movements
  • Ongoing engagement with our sales fulfilment and customer service team
  • Audit of compliance with processes and procedures
  • Engage with NPD Director regarding inbound logistics for new products
  • Work closely with all company departments as required, especially the sales managers and Heads of Sales for important updates on sales trends
  • Implement an appropriate stock count audit cycle procedure with all DC's
  • Data reporting to CEO and relevant parties within agreed deadlines
  • Ensure that all quality standards, legislative requirements and company policies are met, maintained and reviewed on an ongoing basis
  • Participate and drive continuous improvement in supply chain efficiency
  • Other relevant duties, responsibilities and projects within the supply chain as necessary

Skills & Experience Required

  • Degree-qualified in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or similar
  • Membership of a professional body is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in end-to-end supply chain management
  • Previous experience as a supply chain manager or in a similar field
  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes
  • Experience of managing a complex global network of contract manufacturing and third-
  • party distribution
  • Experience working with an ERP system and performing all inventory and sales order
  • processing transactions
  • Solid understanding of regulations or has experience of working in a regulated or
  • controlled environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work well with internal and external stakeholders
  • managing information flows and decision making effectively
  • Creative problem solving, excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Track record of excellent problem solving and process improvement skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strategic and analytical mind
  • Strong IT systems skills e.g. MS packages: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Can demonstrate excellent project management skills
  • Ability to write SOPs and interact with Quality/Regulatory department
  • Has a proven track record of presenting and influencing at senior levels
  • Can manage effectively within a fast paced and changing environment
  • Ability to work effectively within strict cost / time parameters
  • Has the flexibility and desire to travel regularly (20%) within Ireland, UK and internationally.
