Warehouse & Distribution Manager - Logistics - Interim or Fixed Term Contract (FTC)


£35,000 - £45,000

Role Profile

Our client is a leading retailer of Luxury products in Fashion, Beauty & Home Furnishing. They are looking for an established Customer Delivery Manager to join the team on a Fixed Term Contract or Interim bases. The role is due to start towards the end of the month and will be a 6 month contact in the first instance.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Managing end to end cycle of receipt, storage, delivery & returns for large items to customers on behalf of stores located in Brent Cross, Canterbury, Colchester & Kingston.
  • Establish & maintain effective transport delivery schedule to maintain high levels of customer service whilst establishing efficient utilisation of colleague and the fleet.
  • Collaborate with different department within the stores to ensure delivery schedules are visible to stores ensuring an effective process for booking in deliveries are adopted
  • Work with buying team to establish strong understanding of inbound product flows to create volumetric plans.
  • Establish & implement KPIs for operation & an effective report system.
  • Manage work patterns to ensure smooth running of operation during peaks & maintain stable relationships with suitable agencies to manage seasonal peaks.
  • Liaise with retail operations team to set clear expectations surrounding expectations of the quality of service ensuring that all drivers & mates are trained & managed in line with these.
  • Ensuring all complaints are managed courteously & professionally in a timely manner.
  • Manage inbound supplier receipts, storage, loading & delivery whilst maintaining suitable relationships with stores ensuring collection & delivery of items sold form the shop floor.
  • Manage supply of display electricals & furniture to stored on pre agreed basis
  • Manage the backhaul & storage of store fixtures
  • Ensuring that all working environments & process are fully compliant with company policy & statuary H&S regulations addressing any concerns through the appropriate channels.
  • Ensure maintenance of delivery fleet in compliant with legal requirements
  • Establish & maintain an effective performance management processes across all colleagues

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Experience as a front line manager or team lead within a white glove delivery operations
  • LGV delivery fleeting maintenance requirements
  • Good commercial understanding of financial & commercial decision & impact.
  • A strong understanding of delivery & logistics processes involved in the transportation of heavy & large goods.
  • Thrives under the pressures of working in a fast changing environments with strong ability to maintain operational disciplines during periods of significant change.
  • Ability to lead from the front, maintaining strong relationships with your team
  • Customer service is at the heart of everything you do ensuring that exceptional customer services in never compromised.
  • Holds a CPC or has experience of managing CPC requirements
