Facilities Director Jobs
The role of the Facilities Director involves the delivery of a full range of hard and soft facilities services, either through the management of a directly employed FM workforce, or through the management of outsourced service providers. They will be responsible for overseeing projects and the selection and performance management of the Facilities Management department.
Usually the Facilities Director has total accountability for expenditure associated with FM services and responsibility for overseeing the entire FM function from a staffing perspective, either on a regional, UK wide or international level.
The skills required
The Facilities Director must have experience in a similar senior Head of FM or Director's role, with a proven track record of successfully leading a team using strong influencing and negotiation skills.
They will demonstrate a passion for innovation and continuous improvement in order to provide strategic direction and development of the facilities operations.
Facilities Director Jobs in Wigtownshire
Right at the south-western corner of Scotland, where it reaches out into the Irish Sea at the Rhins of Galloway, is the historic county of Wigtownshire. Although it is now part of the larger Dumfries and Galloway county, it retains its personality as a region of fishing and ferries to Ireland and the Scottish islands. As the crow flies, its south-eastern tip is only 21 miles (36 km) from Northern Ireland. Wigtownshire borders Ayrshire to the north and Kirkcudbrightshire to the east.
Any logistics or supply chain jobs such as Facilities Director positions in the area will usually be connected to farming or the ferries, although the sparse population will limit such openings. The largest town in Wigtownshire is not Wigtown itself (whose population is less than a thousand) but Stranraer, at the southern end of Loch Ryan, with its 10,000 inhabitants. This probably represents the best opportunity for such work in Wigtownshire.
