Head of Health and Safety Jobs in Rutland

One of the smallest counties in England, Rutland is bordered by Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire, as well as the unitary authority, Peterborough.

With just two towns, Oakham and Uppingham, and villages including Ketton and Cottesmore, Rutland may be diminutive in size, but it offers a variety of opportunities for those seeking Head of Health and Safety positions.

It's one of the least economically deprived areas in England and in 2007, it became the fourth county to be awarded Fairtrade Status.

The region has a long history and it first shows up in the record books in 1159. Uppingham School, one of the first public schools in the country, was founded in 1584 and over the years it has educated a number of well-known writers, innovators, historians, scientists, politicians, sportsmen and musicians.

Ketton stone is a type of limestone used in building and as an ingredient in cement. The Hanson Cement plant in Ketton produces more than 10 per cent of the UK's demand for the mixture.

In addition, Rutland Bitter is one of only three UK beers to have been given Protected Geographical Indication status. These days, the Grainstore Brewery is one of the few companies to manufacture the tasty beverage.
