Role Profile
Our client is a well-established Logistics business who are looking to expand their Business Development team by hiring a Business Development Manager who is dedicated and hardworking and has an interest in helping to grow the company. The successful candidate will work with the executive team to develop new business, generate leads, and market current products to the areas of operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying new business opportunities, exploring new markets, and developing new clients and partnerships.
- Creating strategies to reach new business goals successfully.
- Building relationships with new clients, gauging their needs, and developing proposals to address these needs.
- Maintaining and developing relationships with current clients
- Attending conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners and staying up to date with new trends
- Creating sales forecasts and actively working towards reaching them
- Possess a strong understanding of the company's offerings and services, being aware of competitors and their place within the local geography.
- Collaborating with Sales and Marketing teams to ensure that the requirements are met
Skills & Experience:
- Recent and demonstrable experience in successful project-based sales
- Highly self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative
- A strategic and creative mind
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
- Exemplary organisational skills, excellent punctuality, and timekeeping
- Solid IT skills and knowledge of necessary software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and our CRM system.
- The ability to motivate themselves and others
- A solid understanding of business and marketing principles
Client information
Our client is a well established Logistics business, with Distribution Centres across the UK. This position is the perfect opportunity for a successful candidate with experience in technical sales to be responsible for establishing and retaining business growth opportunities within the commercial transport industry to expand their marketing and management skills and enjoy working independently on tasks that bring in revenue for the company.
